Project Brief Checklist
Checklist to be used to ensure the Project Brief provides a strong foundation for the project.

- Has the project board approved the Project Brief?
- Is the Project Brief to Ambidexter Management or your company's standards?
- Is it brief?
- Does the Project Brief consider and incorporate lessons learned from previous projects?
- Does the project approach considers a range of solutions?
- Has the project approach been selected and explained?
- Does the project approach include any customer and/or supplier standards such as development lifecycles?
- Does the Project Brief accurately reflect the Project Mandate and the requirements of the business and the users?
- Does the Project Brief contain the (outline) Business Case?
- Does the Project Brief contain the approved Project Product Description?
- Does the Project Brief contain an approved project management team structure and define roles?
- Does the Project Brief contain the Project Executive role description?
- Does the Project Brief contain the Project Manager role description?
- Are the project objectives, project approach and strategies consistent with the organization's corporate social responsibility directive?
- Are the project objectives: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound (SMART)?
- After you have completed the Project Brief and taken a step back, does it provide a commonly understood and well-defined starting point for your project?
- Later on in the Project Initiation phase, are the contents of the Project Brief included and expanded in the Project Initiation documents?
